This article was just brought to my attention and as an artist the thought scares me. Up until now we have had passive copyright laws that bassically mean as soon as you create something you are the owner of that work unless you sell it or give it away to some one else. If this article is correct the government seems to be planning on doing away with that and privatizing copyright registration to private companies. from what Ive found so far it sounds like if you dont "PAY" these private companies for your copyright than your work is an orphaned work, and any one and their brother can steal it and use it as their own because you didnt want to ( or couldnt afford to) pay some one after you busted your butt to create it.

like I said this was just brought to my attention, so I havent had time to really dive into it too much, but I thought I should pass it along to anyone who cares about their art, and owning their own work free and clear.
Afterall you worked to create it... you should have to then turn around and pay out the rear to some shmuck who just wants to make a buck off of your hard work right? PALEASE!
please do check it out and look into it for all artist's sakes.

So a lot happened in 09 and into this year and I just noticed its been a while since I threw up a journal entry. While there has been too much going on to really talk about in this entry in great detail, here are the cliff notes! I've been in and out of several small relationships, since my last long term relationship was a major disappointment. So the epic search for the woman I love continues. With a couple VERY nice prospects on the horizon I might add. I've had to fire a few close friends but
Michael Turner RIP
It was Saturday morning and we were getting ready for the big day at Wizard World Chicago. A friend's knock at the hotel room door delivered the bad news that a man whom I had admired long before many fans out there had passed on. Michael Turner had died at age 37 on Friday June 27th 2008. The news came as a shock to me as I'm sure it did to so many others.
As many of you know, or at least can obviously tell by looking at my work, Michael Turner has always been an inspiration to me, and my work since I started following his career in 1998. His Tomb Raider comics first caught my eye, and then in 1999 I picked up my first issue of Fathom his

Easier to express my opinions on the matter with just a link to my journal about it, rather than repeating myself all over the place... so read if you feel so inclined. At the very least, check out the article in the second link (not mine), it's well-written and gives a lot of info.
